Coronet
The soft rim where the hairy skin turns into the hard hoof.
What is it?
The coronet is where the hoof wall is produced; everything you see on the hoof once grew from here. A wound or infection at the coronet can disturb hoof growth for good, so this zone is especially vulnerable.
