Hock
The large, angular joint in the middle of the hind leg; it matches our ankle.
What is it?
The hock absorbs huge forces when the horse pushes off and is therefore prone to wear such as spavin and thoroughpin. A strong, dry, well-angled hock is one of the most important points for a durable sport horse.
