Stocking
A stocking is white reaching up to the knee or hock.

White running all the way up from the hoof to or just below the knee (foreleg) or hock (hind leg).

The stocking is the highest of the ordinary leg markings. If white reaches higher still, above the knee or hock, it is called high white.
What is it often confused with?
- Sock
A sock is white reaching from the hoof to about halfway up the cannon.
- High white
High white is white reaching above the knee or hock.
