Bald face
A bald face is a very wide blaze that includes at least one eye and often both nostrils.
How do you recognise this marking?
A very extensive white marking covering most of the face and reaching over at least one eye and usually both nostrils. The underlying skin is pink.

The bald face is the broadest form of facial white and is seen mainly in pinto patterns. White around the eye can come with a blue eye. Think of it as the extreme of the star, stripe, blaze series.
What is it often confused with?
- Blaze
A blaze is a wide white band running from the forehead down to the muzzle.
- White muzzle
A white muzzle is white covering the whole muzzle and both nostrils.
