Blaze
A blaze is a wide white band running from the forehead down to the muzzle.

A wide, continuous white band down the face, from the forehead to around the muzzle, wider than a stripe but without fully covering the eyes or nostrils.

A blaze is in effect a wide, connected star, stripe and usually snip. When the white becomes so broad that it includes at least one eye and usually both nostrils, it is called a bald face.
What is it often confused with?
- Stripe
A stripe is a narrow white band down the nasal bones, narrower than a blaze.
- Bald face
A bald face is a very wide blaze that includes at least one eye and often both nostrils.
- Broken blaze
A broken blaze is a blaze or stripe interrupted at one or more points.
